Mushibugyou or Mushibugyo is a basic action anime that classes just above average in my anime ratings.It relates the story of a young samurai who fights off waves of giant insects who have invaded the world in which he lives in to protect the city of Edo.
The action scenes are fine and well made even though there is one thing that annoys me, it is that the main character always uses some kind of catch phrase each time he hits something with his sword.
The anime starts off very slowly with a plot that seems completely uninteresting, it however catches up to my expectations by adding in a little romance and upgrading the plot level a bit even though it doesn't get very far in complexity.
The soundtrack is fine, the anime's animation is as well, it lacks a bit in comedy and in emotion and definitely lacks -even though there has been some progress since the first episodes- in storyline complexity.
Final rating: 6.5/10
With a little more effort on the story, this anime could be great due to it's likeable characters.
